The Museum maintains a behavioural research unit, which explores the dynamics between humans and cats. The museum hosts several ongoing interactive exhibits which support ongoing research into optimising behavioural compliance and routines.

Visitors are invited to participate in an ongoing observational study examining methods by which domestic cats obtain food from sleeping humans.

Since 1974, the Museum of Cats has maintained a realtime global zoomies monitoring network, which allows forecasting of local chaos events.
